This marker is in downtown Carmel, just a few feet from the Enoch Crosby marker mentioned in my last post. The marker says, “County Court House was built in 1814 and the jail was added in 1855. There was one hanging in 1844 and it is today the second oldest working court house in New York State.” Visit the Places-To-Go page here.
