Wells Park is a Town of Southeast facility that is within the village of Brewster. It used to be a day camp. It was closed for a while, but now (Summer 2018) the village of Brewster leases the park from the town of Southeast and operates the park. There is a playground, large pavilion, and an open field and stage where numerous events are hosted, including music festivals, outdoor movies, and more. There is also an old spray park, but it has been CLOSED for a number of years.
Brewster Troop 1 Eagle Scout Peter Arnold did his Eagle Project at the park in 2017/18, installing a kiosk as well as distance markers along the perimeter.
Back in “the day”, there was a pond where the open field and stage now stand, where you used to be able to kayak and paddle boat at the park. The pond was also used as a swimming hole, but health department regulations have ended that – a little silly if you ask me. But no one’s asking me. So the pond was filled in sometime between 2012 and 2017, and turned into an open field and stage.
Below are some photos from when the pond was still there, and the spray park was open…
